Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Desert Sessions, Them Crooked Vultures) ordered his BelAire after seeing Alain Johannes' #10. Josh did not want a tremelo so Mark adapted a string through tailpiece he had designed for a prototype to meet Josh's needs. The result is a bigger sound with more overtones than a standard stop tail piece.

Alain Johannes right corner (Eleven, Chris Cornell, QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures) purchased the first BelAire (#10) after spotting it hanging on the drying rack at our first shop on Venice Blvd in Los Angeles.

Alain's guitar is a great example of the BelAire base model.

The first LeMans was built for Dimitri Coats (#18). Dimitri is the front force behind Burning Brides. Dimitri was known for playing Univox highflyers before his move to MotorAve. Mark did not want him to lose the springy quality of the univox tremelo- so he created the SoftStop tailpiece to simulate the effect, without sacrificing tuning stability. Dimitri also owns a second LeMans in black (#21).

Linda Perry is a well known singer/song writer/producer and she was also the very first person to buy a MotorAve Guitar.

Linda's guitar (#3) is a Trophy Blue FastBack, with a reverse headstock (4x2), and two Tom Holmes Humbuckers.

The fastback is no longer in production, but we consider it the esteemed ancestor of the LeMans.

Tom Rothrock is a producer best known for working with artists such as: Beck, James Blunt, Elliott Smith, Richard Thompson, and bands like the Foo Fighters. In addition to cutting records, Tom works in the film and television world. A short list of credits from his MySpace page reads like this:

“In 1997, Rothrock's contributions to film were acknowledged early on, when his co-production of elliott smith's 'miss misery' for gus van sant's GOOD WILL HUNTING received an Academy Award Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. In 1999, he co-wrote and produced 'its bad you know' with R.L. Burnside for the SOPRANOS original television soundtrack. In 2002, he produced Badly Drawn Boy's songs for the soundtrack to ABOUT A BOY based on nick hornby's popular british novel. 2003 marked the turning point in Rothrock's ascent to full fledged composer and solo artist. He was sought out by lauded movie director Michael Mann to compose music for the original soundtrack of his film, COLLATERAL. And it was from these nocturnal compositions and sound architectures that the seminal ideas for RESONATOR were born.”

Tom's competition orange LeMans lives in his studio, where it works with the best of the best.
